Beauty Of Duality

You do not always have to be happy.
It's okay to be sad, unmotivated, hurt, hateful or anxious.
It's okay to have unwanted emotions. Notice how I said “Unwanted” instead of “Negative”.Though we might not want these emotions they add to the value we hold for the wanted emotions.
They are necessary to give us a frame of reference. The nature of life depicts its beauty.

Vincent Van Gogh: Starry night

Would the understanding of heat exist if there was no cold to counter it?
Would the direction ‘up’ be applicable if the was no ‘down’ to compliment it?
And would there be a concept of 'day' been formed, had there been no 'night'?

...No

In the same way, happiness cannot exist lest there be an understanding of sadness.
Pride cannot exist without knowledge of shame.
Nor can love exist without the presents of hate.

Life has a nature of duality. An entity cannot be understood lest there is a counter to give it an identity.
This allows us to live a life full of texture, depth and variation. This duality brings the zest in life, how much more colourful, vibrant and sweet does summer become when you’ve experienced a gloomy, dark and desolate winter?

Experiencing the bad makes us appreciative of the good.

We learn  how cohesively the good and bad were meant to exist.

Sadness has a refining influence.
